Bhram — a collection of what catches my eye.
The word Bhram comes from Sanskrit — a word associated with illusion, impression and perception. It seemed an appropriate name for a place built around photography — fleeting impressions of light, people, places and moments, held still for a little longer.
I’ve been photographing for many years, mostly because I enjoy looking at the world through a camera. I’ve never felt the need to stay within a single genre. I’m drawn to people, culture, landscapes, quiet moments, unfamiliar roads and the unexpected beauty in ordinary things.
Travel has naturally become a large part of that. Roads, places and the people encountered along the way have a way of changing how I see — and often what I photograph.
Bhram is where I put some of that down. Photographs, journeys, observations, travel notes and, occasionally, things I’ve learnt about making photographs.
Bhram is both a body of work and a place to keep looking.

I’m Ajay Salanky, a brand consultant and designer from Bengaluru, and photography has been a constant alongside my professional life for many years. I’ve photographed professionally in the past — particularly architecture, interiors and products — but today photography is primarily a personal pursuit.
I’ve also spent a good part of that journey building photography communities, including co-founding Photowalk Bengaluru. The idea was simple: Shoot · Share · Learn. It’s a philosophy I still carry with me.
